Based on the EOF decomposition of the Summer Subsurface Ocean Temperature Anomaly （SSOTA） during 1955-1998, the decadal features of the SSOTA over the low-middle latitude Pacific was studied. Results show that there are two decadal patterns of the SSOTA over the middle latitude Pacific ： PDO pattern at 0-160 m and uniform distribution at 200-400 m; the SSOTA over the low latitude Pacific has three decadal patterns： 0-60 m and 300-400 m show the uniform distribution, and 80-240 m fol- lows the oscillation pattern through the East to the West. The decadal variability of the SSOTA in the mid- low latitude over the Pacific is time lagged from the upper toward the lower level. Moreover, its break- through time for the same ing time from the same level is also different.
