The advantages and characteristics of the vehicle muting problem with transfer stations is analyzed. On the basis of which an optimized mathematical model to solve the problem is established and the effective genetic algorithm for the model is constructed. Considering the characteristics of urban freight transportation, the new crossover operator is designed in this algorithm. Numerical calculation results indicate that the proposal model and the algorithm can effectively solve the vehicle routing problem with transfer stations.
