Through the analysis of fault tolerance on hierarchical cubic network HCN_n（n≥3）, the conditional diagnosability of HCN_n under the comparison model is explored theoretically.It establishes that the conditional diagnosability is t_c（HCN_n） = 3n - 2,which is about three times of its traditional diagnosability t（HCN_n） = n ＋ 1.
