Recent applications of RFID in discrete shop floor are summarized. First, the main requirements from discrete shop floor towards RFID are analyzed; then, several application modes and their application cases of RFID in discrete shop floor such as material tracking, quality control and quality tracing, equipment/assert management, work-in-process management, production control and scheduling are reviewed in detail; finally, the main application obstacles of RFID are given out, several key S＆T problems of RFID when applied in discrete shop floor are also presented and discussed.
