According to the recent development of animal drug in the clinical treatment of the periodontitis and other oral diseases,the specific effect of six animal drug in the treatment of the oral diseases especially on periodontitis was introduced. The chitosan- based drug delivery application was also introduced. The results indicated that the animal drug possessed good curative effect on the treatment of oral diseases especially on periodontitis,while less side- effects were reported. This implied the bright future of these specific traditional drugs.
