保留工资是工作找寻理论的一个重要研究议题,但目前国内保留工资的研究大多局限于对在职员工或失业、下岗人员的研究。本文将研究视角放在高等教育持续大规模扩展的背景下,高校毕业生的保留工资对于工作找寻结果的影响上,重点考察保留工资和就业概率呈正相关还是负相关。实证结果发现,在控制了其他因素后,保留工资不但有助于显著提高毕业生的起薪而且有助于显著提高毕业生的就业概率。这表明在中国高校毕业生的就业市场中,保留工资是一个较好的衡量毕业生就业期望的指标。最后,本研究从信息经济学的角度对此现象进行解释。
Retaining Pay is an important topic in job-searching theories.Most studies on retaining pay are mainly focused on employed,unemployed,or laid-off workers.This study investigates how retaining wage influence college graduates job-searching results,especially the relations between retaining wage and employment probability.Results indicate that controlling for other factors,retaining wage not only help graduates' starting salary,but also help to increase their employment probability.This reveals that in the job market,retaining wage is better indicator measuring the graduates' job expectations.In the end,this study explains why this is from the perspective from the information economics.
