A series of quinone compounds were synthesized by catalyzed oxidation from substituted aromatic ethers using diacetoxyiodobenzene as the oxidant, rhodium acetate as the catalyst and methylene chloride as the solvent. The structures were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and MS.
