Nutrient is the basis for the metabolism in human and animals including fish, which greatlyinfluences the organism. The present paper reviews the effect of nutrients on gene expression relatedto growth and development in aquatic animals. The purpose is to understand well the field and to con-trol nutrients effectively in promoting the metabolism, growth, development and output of aquatic ani-mals, which services in enhancing the development of healthy and bioecological fishery as well as theeconomic and social efficiency.
