Some of the adjectives or phrases of adjective nature in modern Chinese have funtions of discourse conjunction and as pragmatic markers when being followed by ＂deshi＂.While as pragmatic markers,they mainly function to editorialize.These functions originated from Ming and Qing Dynasty,but have been widespread since affected by synonymity in English.
