英文摘要：

Nostoc commune Vaucher is a member of the genus Nostoc,which has been found to distribute worldwide. Accumulated evidence demonstrated that N. commune is rich in nutrients. In this review,we summarize and update evidences regarding the physiological activities of N. commune,including desiccation tolerance, resistance to UV radiation, photosynthesis and growth promotion, and the potential biological ac- tivity,especially the immunomodulatory and anti-carcinogenic properties. Collectively, these findings may contribute to further understanding the value of natural products from N. commune, as well as providing some theoretical basis for promising exploitation in the future.
