Based on Biber’s MD analysis, this research studies the stylistic features of diplomatic interpretation discourses by comparing the factor loadings and dimension scores on six dimensions among interpretation, face to face conversation, interview, news broadcasting, government documents and scientific articles. The findings are as follows: there are significant differences between interpretation and other spoken discourses including face to face conversion, interview, and news broadcasting. On the whole, interpretation discourses demonstrate a lot of stylistic features typically and exclusively belonging to written discourses. Specifically, interpretation discourses display the following features: (1) formal style with weak involved stylistic features; (2) conveying a huge wealth of information through complicated sentence structure, attributive adjectives and prepositional phrases, etc.; (3) non-narrative discourse with explicit reference and impersonal, non-abstract and online elaborat-ed information; and (4) overt persuasive function through expressions of persuasion such as suasive verbs, prediction modals, necessity modals, etc.
