Laplacian operator is used to detect the fine detail of image such as edge and texture, and image was enhanced by linear combination of original image and its fine detail in some proportion. Various enhancement methods are given. Results show that the method based on Laplacian operator not only enhances the high-frequency component but also keeps the low-frequency component, therefore it is an efficient method of image enhancement.
