Since its introduction to metal dendrite growth in the early 1990 s,the phase field method has been a research hotpot. In molecular compounds and the grain growth process,each molecule,atom,and grain contains internal potential energy. The internal potential energy can be divided into internal pressure potential energy and potential energy of volume. The conversion from the pressure potential energy to volume potential energy and its recovery have impact on mineral crystallization and metal dendrite growth. This is a problem that has been neglected. This paper discusses the conversion of internal potential energy and internal potential energy entropy in the process of phase transformation and calculation method,the characteristics of internal potential energy entropy equation,and the role of internal potential energy entropy in the phase field equation.
