The nonlinear theory-catastrophe theory is used to analyze the coupling catastrophe mechanism of coal and gas delay outburst after rock cross-cut coal uncovering in production of a coal mine by the improved cusp catastrophe model for coal and gas delay outburst. The mutation mechanism and condition are got, which provides important theoretical basis for forecasting and avoiding of coal and gas delay outburst in the field of the coal mine.
