In the Shang Dynasty, Feng tribe had been living in the territory of the later Qi State for a long time, and its political and cultural center was the old Fengling City, which is located nearby Dongshangzhuang Village, Shangjia Township in the northwest of Zichuan District, Zibo City. Before the second year of King Dixin' s reign, Feng tribe has moved westward from Fengling to the north bank of the old course of Ji River and resettled at present-day Liutaizi Village, Jiyang County, established a state there and made marriage with the new-emerging Zhou people. At the beginning of the Western Zhou Dynasty, the Duke of Feng 丰, who made rebellion and was suppressed by Duke Zhou, was not the Duke of Feng 逢 whose family name was Jiang but the lord of the Feng 丰 State located in present-day Dafeng County, Jiangsu, and his family name was Ren. During the Western Zhou Dynasty, the Feng State and the Zhou court were still keeping close relationship, especially in the reigns of the Kings Mu and Gong, the Feng State has married the princess of the Zhou court and also married off daughters to the Zhou court ; the queen "Wang Zu Jiang" of King Mu of the Western Zhou Dynasty might have come from the Feng State and at this time the relationship between the Feng State and the Zhou court reached its climax.
