Homogeneous micro-/nano-particles have been widely used in recent years, and anisotropic Janus particles have attracted much attention because of their unique properties. Janus particles are a class of par- ticles having at least two different physical or chemical surfaces. The progress of the preparation method and application of Janus particles are reviewed.
