The advances on mechanism of resistance of Escherichia coli from several aspects, including the characteristics, the present state, the biochemical mechanism and the molecular mechanism, especially the molecular mechanism, are summarized. Thus the trend of the drug-resistance on the Escherichia coli can be understood better and the basis for preventing the production of the resistant stains and using drugs reasonablely can be furtherly provided.
