PtSn nanoparticles are loaded on multiwalled carbon nanotubes with ethylene glycol and sodium formate using interval microwave heating method. TEM image and XRD patterns reveal that the PtSn/ MWCNTs electrocatalyst exhibite the homogeneous dispersion on MWCNTs, and the mean particles size is about 3. 2 nm. The cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry measurements indicate that the PtSn/ MWCNTs present the higher electrocatalytic activity and better tolerance to poisoning species for methanol oxidation than that of Pt/MWCNTs catalyst.
