With free market economy and the territorial expansion as background,a large-scale population movements as the basis,proper policy as the guide,science and technology as the driving force,the United States Westward Movement is a comprehensive development process.It achieved political and economic integration between the east and west region in the U.S.It has accumulated valuable experiences and lessons for the global regional economic development.In China,the western region is at a new historical starting point,the principle of western region development is to take the enhancement of self-developing capacity as the main guide line;to consider the improvement of people＇s livelihood as the core;to use technological progress and intellectual development as the support.Comparing the technology and education between the U.S Westward Movement and China＇s west region development,both similarities and differences are existed.Therefore,we should fully draw on the experience of American westward movement,while not complete copy,but learn its lessons and search for a Chinese-style method to develop the west.
