Velarization, glottalization and fricativization of uvular plosives play an important maintenance function in the process of sound system evolution of Sino-Tibetan languages and share similarities in phonetic changes. From the perspective of articulation position , uvular plosives in Sino-Tibetan languages are mainly changed into velar plosives and glottal plosives, and from the perspective of articulation manners , they are mainly changed into velar fricatives and glottal fricatives.
