The development of shield technology in China and abroad is introduced.Particular focus was put on the new technologies in recent years,including new shield method,preventive measures for cutterhead wearing,bailing out technology of shield machine and the prevention and treatment technology of water and mud burst.Theoretical researches and practical experiences both in home and abroad are analyzed and summarized.At last,the prospect of shield technology is given.It is pointed out that the shield technology should develop in the direction of being automatic and intelligent to satisfy the needs of safe and efficient constructions in various stratum structures.
