Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is a 37 amino acid neuropeptide, which plays an important role in cardiovascular, nervous system and digestive system. The function of CGRP was mediated via the receptor. CGRP receptor consists of at least three proteins: calcitonin receptor like receptor (CRLR), receptor activity-modifying protein 1 (RAMP1), and receptor component protein (RCP). The different functions of three proteins are responsible for the trans-membrane signal transduction of the receptor.
