The angle of divergence usually is a constant, and can be deduced by means of different mathematical methods. The formation of constant divergence angle might be of certain ecological significance in utilizing light. The morphogenesis of phyllotaxis follows some particular regularity, and is related to some hormones and genes. The characteristics of phyllotaxis are also related to some other morphological features.
