Zhenbaowan,one of Mongolian drugs,was digested with concentrated nitric acid and perchloric acid.Fe（Ⅲ） was reduced to Fe（Ⅱ） by hydroxylammonium chloride at pH 5.0,and the iron content was 1225.70μg.g-1 determined by the spectrophotometric method.The regression equation of calibration curve is y= 0.163x-0.0014,and its correlation coefficient R =0.9999.The results using internal standard method showed that the recovery of iron was high.（98.4%-101.6%）.The proposed method was simple and successfully applied to the determination of trace iron in Zhen baowan.
