The mtDNA cox3 gene of L11 was amplified , cloned sequenced and analysed. The result showed that partial ATPase 6 tRNA-Gly and complete cox3 gene were contained in 909 bp segment. The open reading frame of cox3 gene contains 789 nucleotides encoding a putative protein of 262 amino acids. The cox3 gene of mtDNA in L11 was completely coincident with that of published Bombyx mori （Chinese Bombyx mori XiaFang, Japanese Bombyx mori Aojuku, Korean Bombyx mori Backojam）, but Japanese Bombyx mandarina, Chinese Bombyx mandarina were respectively 99% and 98%.
