英文摘要：

Energy is a key element in promoting economic development. In this paper, on the basis of comparison of energy consump- tion elasticity between Xinjiang and the national, it analyzes the ability of energy consumption to contribute to economic growth. It con- cludes as follows：the elasticity coefficient of energy consumption in Xinjiang is higher than the national from 2005 to 2010. Every 1% increase in energy consumption will boost GDP by 0.49% in Xinjiang. Economic growth depends on energy strongly. Energy efficiency remains to be improved.
