Mine goal as a potential geological disaster is required to be investigated thoroughly in its scope, depth and size for the future treatment of goaf. The physical geography properties and resistivity character of underground mine goaf were analyzed. An exploration to goaf in Liaoyuan coal mine was carried out with HMES and the area of the goaf was determined. With this meth- od, a 3D simulation of underground mine goaf was done, with good results.
