All human civilizations have evolved from the period of ignorance and brutality, but only the West has developed a more advanced form. Based on the perspective of competition, and using degree distinction and relative-value method, this paper points out that Confucianism had played a huge positive role in ancient China, but in five basic aspects of social life, Confucianism is now far behind the modern culture.However, this does not mean that Confucianism is worthless; it can be used as moral Confucianism and spiritual Confucianism and plays an important role.
