The incidence of vascular dementia（VaD） has been increasing, but the pathogenesis research progress is slow, and genetic aspects researches are controversial, especially. The main risk factor of VaD is cerebral small vessel disease（CSVD）. The common factors of VaD and CSVD in genetics are more and more popular in the field in recent years. Here mainly introduces the research progress in genetic susceptibility of sporadic CSVD and VaD,and the genetics of monogenic inherited CSVD and VaD.
