The opportunity and challenge of pelletizing shaft furnace （PSF） at present in China were firstly analyzed. Secondly, the development status of pellet and PSF was set forth. Thirdly, the technological advancements in construction and operation of PSF were summarized. Finally, two important problems and their solutions of PSF during its development were put forward, and then the technology expectation of PSF was carried out.
