Using the digital camera and the software （Image-Pro Plus）and based on the principles and applications of stereology,the specific surface area of the continuous gradation of mixture aggregate, gravel, broken pebble was measured in image process technique in contrast with the test method.The result shows that the average of axial ratio of equivalent ellipsoid of three kinds of aggregate is 1.48 and the average deviation of specific surface area of ellipsoid model and the ball model is 2.8% .The deviation between the two methods is small,for the average deviation is only 4.3%,which can provide a fast and accurate method for the measurement of specific surface area of aggregate and other geometrically parameters.
