WEI Xiao-xing was born in Guangdong Province, P.R. China, on August 17, 1985. He received the B. S. degree in electrical engi neering from Hunan University, P. R. China, in 2009. He is now a Ph.D. degree candidate in Tsinghua University, P. R. China. His major research fields are outdoor insulation and application of silicone rubber, anti-icing material for outdoor insulators. XU Zhi-hai (M' 08) was born in Liaoning Province, P. R. China, on October 16, 1982. He received the B. S. degree in electrical engi- neering from Shanghai Jiaotong University, P. R. China, in 2005. He is now a Ph.D. degree candidate in electrical engineering at Tsinghua University, Beijing, P. R. China. His major research fields are outdoor insulation, application of silicone rubber, and anti-icing materials for overhead insulators. LI Zhi-ning was born in Hebei Province, P. R. China, on July 28, 1986. He received the B.S. degree in department of electrical engi- neering from Tsinghua University, P. R. China, in 2009. He is now a MEE degree candidate in Tsinghua University, P. R. China. His major research field is the influence and application of anti-icing material for outdoor insulators. JIA Zhi-dong ( M'06 ) was born in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, P. R. China, on October 4, 1966. He received his B. S and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, P. R. China, in 1987 and 2001, respectively. From 2001 to 2003 he worked as a postdoctoral fel- low at Tsinghua University. He is now an as- sociate professor at the Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University. His major research fields are high voltage insulation, improvement of RTV coatings, preventing ice on outdoor insulation, discharges along hydrophobic surfaces and nano electrical spins.
