Micro/nano hierarchical LiMn204 microspheres have been successfully prepared through calcination of the carbonate precursor from co-precipitation. The spinel LiMn204 microspheres with diameters of 600-900 nm are assembled by nanoparticles with sizes of 30-40 nm. The micro/nano hiearchical LiMn:O4 microspheres exhibit excellent rate performance in 2M LizSO4 aqueous solution for applications in aqueous lithium-ion battery. When the current density is 1 A g^-1,, 1.5 A g^-1,, 2 A g^-1, or 2.5 A g^-1,, the specific discharge capacity is always about 110 mAh g^-1,. Even at the current density of 5 A g^-1,, the specific discharge capacity can still retain 71 mAh g^-1,.
