The Ethernet technology is widely applied in the optical access network. Andin the traditional DSL technology VLAN is mainly used to distinguish the services supported by different service providers, while PVC to label the services subscribed by different users. The optical access network with Ethernet technology couldn＇ t use PVC technology supported by DSL to distinguish the subscriber services. By allocating different VLANs to the customers, it is possible to provide different services on the same physical port.
