Based on a clear definition of the two key concepts,this paper analyzes the multiplex fountainheads of conjugated evolution of social transformation and tourism development.A chronological review is made on the conjugated evolutions of these two in Hainan Island after the founding of P.R.China,clarifying the characteristics of each stage of the classified three stages.It concludes that favorable social transformation and corresponding new-style society reconstruction can promote the development of tourist industry as well as the national economy as a whole.
