Doubt is not necessary that traditional Chinese medicine is effective clinically. But how to evaluate its effect objectively is a key problem restricting the development of traditional Chinese medicine. The author has here discussed the current situation and tendency first, then gradually expanded on the basis of clinical practice . The conclusion is that the way of making full or reasonably use of principle of evidence based medicine（EBM） and combining individualizing with standardizing will be feasible.
