Metal-polymer composite microspheres have become a hot topic, since they combine the excellent performance of both metal and polymer. The recent research progresses of metal-polymer composite microspheres are introduced. Classification and preparation approaches are summarized. Furthermore, the principles and applications of the preparation approaches are reviewed in detail. Finally, the applications in the areas of electromagnetic and microelectronics, photonics, catalysis are also summarized.
