Photoluminescence composite films have become a hot topic, since they combine the excellent performance of both nanocomposite film and luminescent materials. The recent research progresses of photoluminescence composite films are introduced. Their classification and preparation approaches are summarized, furthermore, principles and applications of the preparation approaches are reviewed in detail. Finally, the applications in the areas of film sensor, light conversion agricultural film, luminescent plastic film and luminescent device are also summarized.
