Karat red gold was becoming a very prevailing jewelry material for its special color. Copper was applied as the main alloying element, while Cu atom was prone to form fragile ordered solid solution with Au atom, which caused brittle rupture problem during the manufacturing of karat red gold jewelry. There were several factors affecting the ordered transformation, such as alloy composition, cooling method and deformation process, etc. By designing the composition of karat red material reasonably, and cooling the jewelry rapidly after heating at high temperature, and adopting correct heat-treatment process during the deformation, the brittle rupture problem could be avoided.
