To adapt to the development in local economic environment, the local colleges shall im- prove its course system and teaching mode so that the graduates will have higher innovative, adapta- tion, practical and competition capability. The paper takes the principles of chemical engineering in Xianyang Normal University as a case study to explore the importance of＂ open teaching mode. At the same time, the innovative thinking and the practical details of open teaching mode were studied to pro- vide a useful reference for the innovation of the curriculum development.
