Temporal information extraction and retrieval are two key issues in Web temporal information processing. In this paper, we first analyze the significance of temporal information for Web applications. Then, the status quo of Web temporal information extraction and retrieval is discussed in depth. After that, the ontological repre- sentation of Web temporal information is discussed. Finally, the future development directions of Web temporal information extraction and retrieval are predicted.
