The high resolution mass spectrometry （HR -MS）plays a key role in detection and identification of drugs and metabolites owing to the rapid, sensitive and specific characteristics. This review outlines the advancement of mass spectrometry system in metabolite identification, and emphasizes on the superiorities of multiple new types of data acquisition and data mining techniques for metabolite identification, so as to provide references for further study of metabolism.
