Traditional Chinese Medicine is playing an increasingly important role in daily life,but the analysis of chemical composition is very difficult because its chemical constituents are various,diverse,low content and their structure is very complex.How to analyze and identify the constituents is the key factor of the development of the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine.Mass spectrometry,especially high resolution mass spectrometry,plays a decisive role in the current analysis techniques.This paper reviewed the mass spectrometry technique and strategy used in the analysis and identification of the traditional Chinese medicine,and focused on the characteristics and advantages of high resolution mass spectrometry in the analysis process.It will be helpful for more reasonable application of high resolution mass spectrometry to analyze the chemical components of traditional Chinese medicine faster and better.
