First of all, the application of thermoelectric materials in the field of thermoelectric power generation and thermoelectric refrigeration is introduced. Secondly, an overview of the research progress is given for thermoelec-tric materials, including several types of new materials, such as Half-Heusler intermetallic compounds, skutterudite and nano-materials. Finally, the test method and standard of thermoelectric properties for thermoelectric materials are briefly reviewed.
