A model of Chinese formula design based on the characteristics of formula nature was initially established, and the effectiveness of this method was illustrated with examples. The results showed that the method had the reference value in the combination of Chinese medicinal ingredients and design of alternative plan for endangered medical materials. The study is helpful to promote the research on the theory of Chinese medicinal nature and combination theory.
