Plant variety value chain model is not static, but always evolves from lower to higher model with the changes of the external environment and the growth of enterprises. The concept and characteristics of plant variety value chain evolution were described in the paper.Three models of plant variety value chain evolution were summarized, and advantages and disadvantages of each model, the applied conditions and typical cases were analyzed, in order to improve the international competitiveness of China＇s seed enterprises.
