As a geographical concept,Hedong＇s boundary was obscure before the Period of Warring States,refering to an area to the east of the Yellow River.Hedong County was set in the Qin Dynasty,and its territory covered an area to the south of Mount Holyoke,and to the west of the Qinhe River.Later,its territory has changed greatly at different times.Today the word Hedong,refers to the thirteen counties under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Yuncheng.
