Tumor necrosis factor（TNF）-related apoptosis-inducing ligand（TRAIL） is a member of TNF superfamily,which could selectively induce apoptosis in numerous tumor cell lines.And it is non-toxic in normal cells.TRIAL may be a new method of cancer therapy,thus it has spurred our attention.This review introduces research progress in TRAIL from several aspects：structure,receptor,the pathway of inducing apoptosis and the applications in cancer therapy,which is expected to be helpful in cancer treatment by TRAIL.
