The biennial Historikertag could tell us some trends of developments of German historiography since the beginning of this century,if we make a quantitative and qualitative analysis on the topics of sections. Firstly, questions on identity are still the major point in historical writing, but beyond the former one-side perspective. Secondly, the transformation from social( structural) history to cultural history have continued,trans-discipline projects are now more popular. Thirdly, global history as a new but popularized wave all over the world is now revived in German academia. Fourthly but not lastly, history education keeps step with the development of history and researchers pay more attention to public history.
