On the base of analyzing product variant design mode, a variant design correlation model is created. The model aims at the characteristics of different phase in variant design and shows the correlative relation of every design variable by constraint. It also supports the designer interposing the design phase randomly, so the variational demands are satisfied in the design process. Basic operation methods of variant design correlation model are given and explained by a retarder at the same time.
